The New York State Fair 2004

Building a giant cheese burger for the 100th anniversary of the hamburger! 

 

 

 

Over a dozen chefs and friends worked four days to create the 800 pound birthday cake. 

 

 

Cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, "beef" patties and a sesame seed bun are all made with butter cream icing and rolled fondant.

 

 

 

 

The giant cheese burger, once finished, was transported about 15 miles in a refrigerated produce truck to the fairgrounds.  It took 7 people to unload the cake.

 

 

 

Complete with a marzipan olive on top our cheese burger cake was cut and served to over 3200 guests at the New York State Fair!
